Sherif comes from a software development background where he designed, implemented and led software teams for 9 years. Sherif's journey with application security started back in 2006 where he kicked off an OWASP Chapter in Ottawa and then led the development of WebGoat 5.0 with over 12 new lessons. In addition, he helped SANS kick off the GSSP-NET and GSSP-JAVA exams. Sherif works now as Principal Application Security at Software Secured where he reviews code of private and public sector clients
